Position of Junior Research Fellow at the ANR-Lab

The International Laboratory for Applied Network Research (ANR-Lab) is opening the position of Junior Research Fellow.

Requirements:

• Higher education in the field of social (sociological, political science, psychological, linguistic), computer sciences and in the field of mass media and mass communications.
• Work experience in research companies/scientific and educational institutions, incl. in leadership positions – at least 3 years.
• Scientific degree: at least a master in the direction of Social sciences (sociologogy, political science, psychology, linguistics) and Computer science.
• Publications for the last five years, with a mandatory indication of affiliation for each publication: at least 5 publications Information about indexing in the Russian Science Citation Index, Web of Science CoreCollection and Scopus databases: to be indexed in the RSCI, Scopus, WoS Publications in a specific branch (field) of sciences: at least 5 in sociological and / or computer sciences.
• Experience in participation in scientific research and development in a specific field of sciences, indicating the role (leader / performer) for each project: at least 3 projects in sociology and applied statistics, mathematics and computer science Information about the personal participation of the applicant in scientific events (congresses, conferences, symposiums and other scientific events) indicating the status of the report (invited, plenary, sectional, poster) and the level of the event (international, all-Russian, regional) in terms of social (sociological, political science, psychological, linguistic) and computer science and network analysis over the past 5 years.
• Information about pedagogical activity: giving lecture courses, conducting seminars, scientific supervision of graduate students and other types of pedagogical activity: a list of courses for the last 5 years, indicating the number of hours, the university and faculty where the courses were taught. General experience of scientific and pedagogical activity: at least 3 years.
• Necessary competencies: skills in the field of computational social sciences, namely: intellectual text analysis (text mining), natural language processing (natural language processing), artificial neural networks, machine and deep learning for academic and applied social research; as well as a good knowledge of English and the ability to program in R/Python.

• Work on academic and commercial projects under the supervision of the Laboratory members.
• Conducting research on the following topics: computational social sciences, network analysis methodology, networks in economics, management, sociology and political science.
• An opportunity to use the Laboratory Mobility Fund for the trips to international conferences.
• Salary level is determined by the results of the interview.
