The International Laboratory of Applied Network Research at the Gravity 2026 Congress

Irina Pavlova presented a paper on the use of multimodal network analysis to study the Russian labor market as part of the program of the Scientific Congress of the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers "Gravity."

The Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia hosted the Scientific Congress of the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers and the awards ceremony for the IV International University Prize in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, "Gravity." The event brought together approximately 800 participants—representatives of universities, IT companies, and government agencies—and was held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation.

The competition received 243 applications—a 20% increase from the previous year. The award was traditionally organized by the Presidential Academy, Tomsk State University, and the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers Association; RUDN University was the official partner of the ceremony.

Irina Pavlova, Deputy Head of the International Laboratory for Applied Network Analysis, presented a paper titled "Multimodal Network Analysis of Vacancies in the Labor Market." The report presented an approach to studying the structure and dynamics of the Russian labor market using network analysis methods: vacancies, skills, employers, and regions are considered as different types of nodes in a single network, allowing for the identification of hidden connections and patterns inaccessible by traditional analysis methods.

The application of network methods to labor market analysis opens new possibilities for understanding how demand for professions and skills is shaped in the modern economy—and the laboratory continues to develop this research direction.
