Dear all,
On Monday, October 22, 19.00 pm, International laboratory for Applied Network Research will hold its regular Monday open seminar, where our collegues from the NRU HSE School of Linguistics and School of Philology Boris Orekhov, Pavel Uspensky and Veronika Freinbegr will present the results of their study of Emigrant Networks using Social Network Analysis.
The authors of the study applied network analysis to an unusual source - the “Camer-Fourier Journal” of V.F. Khodasevich. The transformation of the emigrant (from 1922 to 1939) diary of Khodasevich’s daily contacts into a formalized form made it possible to describe the structure of the community of Russian emigrants and to find out the quantitative parameters of this community. With the help of network analysis methods, many historical and literary data on the central and peripheral figures of emigration were clarified. In addition, the data obtained allowed to check how justified is the opposition of “senior” and “junior” writers in the field of emigrant literature of those years. "
The seminar will take place at 7 pm on Myasnitskaya st. 20, room 224.
Please register to partisipate in the event.
Please note that the language of the seminar is Russian (but everyone still welcome, we can make some translation.
We will be glad to see you at our open Monday seminar!
