10th International Summer School “Analysis of Scientific Networks”
The NRU HSE International Laboratory for Applied Network Research (ANR-Lab), together with the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, is delighted to invite applications to its 10th International Summer School, “Analysis of Scientific Networks.”
School will provide methodological courses by Vladimir Batagelj (University of Ljubljana, HSE ANR-lab) and Daria Maltseva (HSE ANR-Lab). It will also feature special lectures on bibliometric analysis of scientific networks by Anuška Ferligoj (University of Ljubljana, ANR-Lab), Luka Kronegger (University of Ljubljana), Giuseppe Giordano (Università di Salerno), and Maria Prosperina Vitale (Università di Salerno).
The goal of the school is to teach participants to collect and analyze bibliometric data in the field of their research interests, leading to theoretically sound and methodologically rigorous, publishable papers. School instructors and special guests will provide individual consultations and mentoring for participants working on their research problems and data sets. To the PhD students, the school will offer 3 UCTS credits.
Participants who will make the most progress on their projects will be asked to participate in the after-school International Workshop on Scientific Networks. Best papers from the workshop will be invited for submission to a special issue in one of the renowned journals in the field of scientometrics or network analysis.
Application deadline is June 23, 2019.
Due to the requests of the applicants, the deadline for submitting applications has been extended until June 30, 2019.
Please send your CV and a motivation letter with a description of your research interests and research design of the proposed project on scientific networks (in one pdf file of approximately 3 pages), which you want to conduct during the school, to the school organizers Daria Maltseva (d_malceva@mail.ru) and Dmitry Zaytsev (zaytsevdi2@gmail.com). Admission preference will be given to applicants who are strongly interested in applying to our master’s “Applied Statistics with Network Analysis” program and are using this opportunity to get acquainted with our faculty, resources, and research opportunities.
The fee for the 10th International Summer School “Analysis of Scientific Networks” is 249€, which covers the cost of lodging, hotel cost, meals, and transfer from Moscow to the HSE Study Center “Voronovo.”
