ANR-Lab Seminar "Theoretical and Methodological Approaches to measuring Impact of Social Movements on Environmental Policy Change"
On Monday, February 15, at 5 p.m., the regular scientific seminar of the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research will be held; analyst Anna Sokol will present her research proposal.
The movements, and in particular the waves of movements, are the main catalysts of policy change. Therefore, social movements as a research subject were always of interest to sociologists and policy scientists. With the development of society's movements and political institutions, the study of social movements has changed from the study of the socio-psychological aspects of collective behavior to analysis of movements in the political and sociocultural context to determine institutional and policy changes. However, within the research field's status, the problems and issues that require further research remain. This study attempts to examine the importance of social movements (as an example, environmental movements) the ability of governmental and non-governmental actors, including environmental movements, to achieve these goals of change.
The seminar language is - English. The meeting will be held online on the Zoom platform.
If you would like to participate in the seminar, please write to the research assistant of the laboratory Aryuna Radnaeva (aradnaeva@hse.ru, +7 (910) 416-72-82).
