ANR-Lab seminar "Principles and strategy of cognitive interview"

Event ended

On Monday, October 4, at 17:00, a scientific seminar of the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research will occur, where Senior Research Fellow of ANR-Lab Ivan Klimov will talk about the principles and strategies of cognitive interview.

Who do Russians treat better – the "head of the Roman Catholic Church" or the "Pope"? How does an eighteen-year-old girl answer the question "Do you have children in your family"?  What determines the amount of income that respondents indicate in the survey questionnaire?

Most of the sociological data are of a communicative nature. Any question is like an exe-file that triggers certain cognitive processes. They should be understood when we start formulating questionnaire questions or analyzing the data already collected. There is an approach that allows one to quickly and economically solve a significant part of the tasks of the "piloting" stage of the survey tool: cognitive interview (CI).

At the seminar we will discuss:

  • usefulness and areas of applicability
  • how to develop and implement a CI strategy
  • what to do with the results
  • which books should be kept at hand

The language of the seminar is Russian. The seminar will be held in a mixed format - in person at the address of the AUK "Pokrovsky Boulevard", Pokrovsky b-r, d. 11, office M409 with an online broadcast on the Zoom platform. Registered participants will receive a letter with an invitation to the video conference.

Registration for the seminar is available here.

We will be glad to see everyone!
