ANR-lab seminar 'Article in Inter: Methodological approach to the study of relations in the network: qualitative network analysis'

Event ended

On October 9th, at 17:00, junior research fellow Aryuna Kim will make a presentation: 'An article in Inter: A methodological approach to the study of relationships in the network: qualitative network analysis'

The purpose of the article is to substantiate qualitative network analysis as a separate methodological approach to the study of relationships in the network. In this paper, the theoretical framework of the network approach is proposed, the theoretical basis of qualitative network analysis is given, theoretical concepts related to the study of the deep meanings of relationships in the network are outlined. The place of qualitative network analysis in network approaches is determined, among which two approaches to the division of methodologies are distinguished: the division into quantitative and qualitative methods and the division into quantitative, ego-network and qualitative network analysis. The author proposes a systematization of network approaches at different levels, where network analysis of structures at the macro level, network analysis of subgroups at the meso level and ego-network analysis are distinguished, which can be used in the design of both quantitative and qualitative research. The main tasks of the methodology under consideration and examples of empirical research are discussed.
