ANR-Lab Scientific Seminar "Network Analysis of International Military Conflicts Taking into Account Internal Conflicts"

Event ended

Dear Colleagues! We invite you to the new session of the regular scientific seminar of the Laboratory for Applied Network Analysis. On January 29 at 15:00 (Moscow time), Anna Semenova, an analyst at the Laboratory and a graduate student at the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, will share the results of her research on the use of network analysis in the study of international relations.

The work discusses a network approach for studying interstate conflicts. A network of interactions between countries involved in conflicts is built, which takes into account both the intensity of the international conflict and the presence of internal conflict in the country. When building a network, the influence of third countries on the conflict is considered as well. The work uses both classic centrality indices and new ones that take into account the parameters of nodes and the group influence of nodes on the vertex.

Language of the Seminar: English
