Offline communities

The empirical study is aimed at identifying factors of distribution and accumulation of social capital in student communities and covers a total of about 300 people from two student streams.

This project is being carried out by the laboratory together with mambers  of the Center for Sociocultural Research Azharia Karimova and Ekaterina Bushina. Based on empirical material collected by colleagues about the relationships between students of different nationalities in schools in Russia and Tajikistan, we find out what role origin, ethnic and civil identity play in the formation of specific configurations of relationships between adolescents. By applying modern methods of quantitative network and meta-analysis, as well as including the aspect of identity, this work makes a theoretical, empirical and methodological contribution to the study of interethnic relations in the post-Soviet space.

The topic focuses on the problems of family business and the formation of the institution of succession.

The focus is on the role of the family in business management and the development of strategic decisions, interaction within the family (family governance) and with the management team, approaches to succession planning, the strengths of managers, their destructors and values that influence intragroup interaction, as well as the development of the ability to analyze leadership commands

The research topics largely inherit the work of the Wealth Transformation Center of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo and at the same time “ground” the topic on the theory of transformation of social institutions.

The topic is devoted to research into the NPO sector: we study the structure of interaction in the sector, barriers and opportunities for digital and organizational development, the role of major business players in the development of philanthropy and charity infrastructure.

Digital transformation of the NPO sector is one of the urgent development tasks. Both the business sector and the government are actively introducing IT tools into their business processes. The NPO sector does not have such resources, so the “digital distance” with it is rapidly increasing. This leads to negative consequences: the sector’s activities remain opaque and ineffective, and many donor stakeholders are afraid to allocate significant financial resources here.

At the same time, a number of companies and organizations are developing development programs. Our task is to study and evaluate collaboration networks and the effectiveness of infrastructure solutions for the NPO sector. Our partners and customers are cool and lively teams from the Skolkovo Business School, Sovcombank, the Potanin Foundation, Skolkovo Fintech Hub, the Social Information Agency and a number of other participants. The thematic and methodological repertoire of works is extensive: these include not only interviews and monitoring studies, but also a study of the role of cryptocurrencies in charity and experiments with the capabilities of AI to assess the organizational maturity of NPOs.
