Social trust and satisfaction

In a broad sense, the direction is aimed at modeling well-being and quality of life using mathematical statistics methods ("classical" modeling methods – multivariate modeling, multilevel (hierarchical regression) modeling, structural equation modeling). This direction is focused on studying factors and predictors in assessing constructs related to the well-being of the population of countries and communities. For example, Multilevel Modeling of Happiness and Life Satisfaction aims to identify differences in assessment for the older age group. Bibliometric network analysis is also used to map the structure of knowledge in these areas.

The study involves a qualitative study of consumers of deviant content and the development of a theoretical framework for analyzing the motives for such consumption (consumerism, ontological security, pathologization, stigmatization). The study focuses on the consumption of content about serial killers, but the proposed theoretical framework can be applied to other deviant consumption of violent content.

In the situation of recognition of emotions by an intelligent agent, we are dealing with a system in which there are two components: an algorithmic agent and a human. If a person has the ability to perceive and can experience emotions, then the algorithm cannot experience emotions. At the same time, the relationship between perception and emotions always occurs in time and many options for the development of events can be listed. In other words, emotion and perception are inseparable: without perception there is no emotion. Therefore, in order for a machine to learn to “experience” emotions, it must first be taught to “perceive” them, and not just recognize them (that is, recognition models become more complex). It is important in these situations not to lose focus on the person, so an urgent problem is the formation and tracking of markers of a person’s emotional well-being in intelligent systems in situations of recognition, detection, induction, and demonstration of emotions.

In domestic and foreign practice, when discussing issues of creating a safe urban environment, they note and study, first of all, objective factors: ecology, quality of the urban environment, crime level, etc. However, subjective factors related to individual and social factors play a large role in the perception of safety. characteristics of citizens, incl. their social status, emotions, social circle, information field in which they are located, etc. Most often, such factors can be taken into account in studies with qualitative methodology. At the same time, to compare different urban spaces and map them, an element of quantitative measurement is needed. A methodological question arises: how to measure emotions and feelings associated with specific places in the city quantitatively? This study aims to explore the potential of such measurements, incl. on social media data and using network methodology.
