Social Movements and Civil Participation

Due to the development of the Internet and social networks, social movements and civil participation are taking new forms: civil communities or “active publics,” “new social movements,” new media, analytical networks, and online communities. These forms are not accounted for in the classical theoretical frameworks.
In this project, we are developing and testing new theories and methodological approaches for researching these new, unconventional forms of civil participation.
