Position of Research Fellow in the ANR-Lab (Russian Postdoc Program)

Project goal: Study of formal and informal institutions (social groups, teams, organizations, etc.) as structures of network interactions, identifying their characteristics and features, modeling and forecasting changes using network analysis methodology.

Tasks within the project:

• Formation of a working group from among laboratory staff and students based on the implementation of a project under the leadership of a postdoc, exchange of experience in conducting research;
• Review and synthesis of current research, preparation of a literature review on the subject of the project;
• Review of current methods in the field of network analysis on the subject of the project, participation in the development of research methodology;
• Search, collection and processing of necessary data, preparation of a description of the data and the results of their primary analysis;
• Data analysis using statistical and network analysis methods;
• Description of results in the format of scientific publications and reports, presentation of research results;
• Expanding the laboratory's research topics and contributing to the field of network analysis and network science.

What we expect from successful candidates for this position:

• Required work experience: at least 3 years
• Russian citizenship
• Academic degree (Academic degree of Candidate of Sciences, successful defense of a candidate's dissertation, PhD degree)
• Having a degree in socio-economic and technical areas (social, mathematical, computer sciences)
• Proficient in quantitative methods of data analysis (exploratory, cluster and regression analysis, etc.), knowledge of and work in at least one data analysis program (R, Python, etc.)
• Knowledge of network analysis methodology (Social network analysis / Network science) (calculation of basic metrics, working with different types of networks, identifying communities, etc.)
• Knowledge of and work in at least one of the network analysis programs (R, Python, Pajek, Gephi, UCInet, etc.)
• Knowledge of English for free scientific and educational communication (oral and written)
• Active participation in scientific events of the department
• Proficiency in advanced quantitative analysis methods (multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, cluster and regression analysis, time series analysis, etc.) is not required, but is preferred
• Knowledge of advanced quantitative analysis methods (multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, cluster and regression analysis, time series analysis, etc.) and advanced network analysis methods (temporal analysis, network data clustering, network modeling ERGM, tERGM, SAOM, etc.) is not required, but encouraged

Tasks within the project:

• Formation of a working group from among laboratory staff and students based on the implementation of a project under the leadership of a postdoc, exchange of experience in conducting research;
• Review and synthesis of current research, preparation of a literature review on the subject of the project;
• Review of current methods of data analysis on the subject of the project, participation in the development of research methodology;
• Search, collection and processing of necessary data, preparation of a description of the data and the results of their primary analysis;
• Data analysis using advanced quantitative statistical methods;
• Description of results in the format of scientific publications and reports, presentation of research results;
• Expanding the laboratory's research topics and contributing to the thematic direction of computational social sciences;
• Active participation in scientific events of the department.
