Bibliometric analysis of scientific networks

This project area combines a number of studies using the methodology of bibliometric network analysis to study various scientific fields.

The methodology of bibliometric network analysis was proposed by Vladimir Batagelj and involves the analysis of a large amount of data from the scientific citation database Web of Science. This methodology involves the construction of networks connecting different bibliometric objects (publications, authors, journals, keywords, etc.) with various types of relationships (co-occurence, citation, co-citation, bibliographic coupling, etc.). The analysis of such networks provides opportunities for studying the development of various scientific fields and disciplines, their thematic structures and research teams.

This methodology is used to study the fields of social network analysis (Vladimir Batagelj, Daria Maltseva), network science (Valentina Kuskova), bibliometrics and scientometrics (Vladimir Batagelj, Daria Maltseva), political science (Dmitry Zaitsev, Grigory Khvatsky), biopolitics (Ilya Inshakov), environmental policy (Anna Sokol), urban networks (Tamara Shcheglova), literature in the field of mixed methods (Daria Maltseva, Stanislav Moiseev), and network clustering and blockmodeling (Vladimir Batagelj).
