ANR-Lab Seminar "Stability of Centrality Measures in Network Structures"ANR-Lab Seminar "Stability of Centrality Measures in Network Structures"

On March 3 at 16:30, laboratory employee Anna Semenova will present a report on the topic "Stability of Centrality Measures in Network Structures"

In recent decades, more and more methods for ranking vertices in a graph have appeared. Each centrality measure answers the question of which vertices are important in a particular network in its own way. It is often important to know how the ranking changes depending on small changes in the network. The issue is especially important when working with real networks, which are often accompanied by incompleteness or gaps in the data. The paper provides a brief overview of existing approaches to assessing the stability of centrality indices. The results of the stability of classical and new centrality indices (Bundle and Pivotal indices) to changes in the graph (removal and addition of an edge, removal and addition of a vertex) are described. The results of a series of experiments are given for 5 classical network structures.
