Ninth International Summer School "Applied Data Analysis with Python" (TMSA-2018)
International Laboratory for Applied Network Research invites all to participate in the Ninth International Summer School «Applied Data Analysis using Python» (TMSA-2018).
We are pleased to announce that ANR-Lab is organizing a traditional summer school in which participants will be able to gain knowledge and skills in the field of network analysis. The main topic of this event will be "Applied Data Analysis using Python."
The purpose of the school is to introduce participants to the foundations of data analysis using Python programming language. The school contains three independent, but interconnected components:
1. Python basics: introduction to Python programming language, simple syntactic constructions, necessary modules for researchers.
2. Data Analysis (DA) with Python: dataframes, statistics and visualization, querying, scraping from the web, simulating user behavior for data collection and preprocessing.
3. Applied Network Science and Natural Language Processing (NLP) using Python: introduction to modern Network Science and NLP models and their implementation in Python.
4. Machine Learning (ML) in Python: regression, classification and clustering. From theory to practice.
The main goal of the school is to help participants, who have never worked with programming languages and tools, to learn simple interpretation programming language widely used worldwide among Data Scientists. The ultimate outcome of the school is to learn how to proceed from formulating ML & DA tasks to data collection, preprocessing, and experiment design based on applied statistics methodology. The working language of the school is English.
Participation requirements
Researchers and students who have never worked with Data Science tasks in Python before, but are interested in utilizing this method in their respective areas of study, are invited to apply.

Also, please indicate your area of academic interest, where you want to apply the Social Network Science and/or Data Science. Please attach your CV and any other materials you find relevant (such as abstracts of working papers), so that we can better tailor your individual reading list to your academic interests.
