A series of scientific events of ANR-Lab within the framework of Readings on instrumental methods in economic and social research
On May 15-17, the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, together with the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis, is holding Readings on instrumental methods in economic and social research in memory of Evgeniy Grigorievich Yasin.
As part of the Readings events on May 16-18, the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research will organize a number of events dedicated to research in the theory and practice of network analysis, current challenges and opportunities for its application in the Russian-language research space. The planned events are dedicated to the 10th anniversary of ANR-Lab.
On May 16 and 17, the Academic session “Network Analysis” will take place with presentations by invited speakers and laboratory members in three areas:
- Network Analysis Methods
- Network Analysis: Practice and Application
- Network Analysis: Social Theories and Processes
The event will take place remotely. Event language: English.
On May 17, a round table “Theory and practice of network analysis in the Russian-language research space: experience, prospects and challenges” will be held, where the current state of the direction of Social network analysis (SNA) and the prospects for its development in the Russian research space will be discussed.
In the first part of the event, several reports by the leaders of the Laboratory will be presented, and in the second part, round table participants will discuss current issues in the development of the area.
Representatives of research groups using network analysis in fundamental and applied research in the Russian-speaking research space, as well as industry representatives using network analysis methodology to solve practical research problems, are invited to speak at the round table.

On May 18, a one-day intensive course on network analysis “One-day network-diving” will take place. The course is aimed at young researchers who want to get acquainted with the methodology of social network analysis.
Participants in the intensive will be able to learn about why social network analysis is the “icing on the cake” among data analytics, understand the basic terms and concepts of this area, gain an understanding of the available programs for network analysis and their main capabilities, and also learn how to work in the program Gephi as part of a practical lesson.
The intensive will take place from 11.00 to 14.30.

After the end of the event, a meeting of laboratory employees and guests is planned, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of ANR-Lab.
