ANR-Lab at the Digital Session of Universities of the North Caucasus Federal District
ANR-Lab Head Daria Maltseva and Deputy Head Irina Pavlova took part in the project-analytical session of the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers, which was dedicated to artificial intelligence and big data in the field of tourism and healthcare.
From April 10 to 13, 2025, the Elbrus Educational and Scientific Complex of Kabardino-Balkarian State University hosted the IV Project and Analytical Session of the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers. The event brought together representatives of 19 universities from the North Caucasus Federal District and other regions of Russia, as well as experts from IT companies, federal scientific organizations of the Russian Academy of Sciences and ministries of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The session participants discussed the impact of artificial intelligence and big data on tourism and healthcare, and also considered trends in the field of "green" technologies and the ESG agenda in finance and economics. In cooperation with technology companies, they worked out examples of comprehensive interaction in the digitalization of university campuses and the development of educational programs for training personnel in demand in the real sector of the economy.
Daria Maltseva and Irina Pavlova presented their reports in the pitch session:
- Daria showed how network analysis can be used to solve practical problems in the tourism industry. As part of the analysis of scientific literature, four possible areas were identified: stakeholder network mapping, studying networks of attractions and tourist destinations, mapping of tourist discourse, and mapping of academic networks.
- Irina's report presented the fourth area in more detail. Using the methodology of bibliometric network analysis based on the OpenAlex library of scientific publications and the VOSviewer program, Irina identified the main trends and interesting areas in the field of tourism research.
Participation in the session strengthened the partnership between the Laboratory and the Consortium of Big Data Researchers, and also allowed identifying areas for joint research projects with the consortium member teams.
This year, the laboratory team will hold a series of open seminars for the Consortium members 'Network Analysis: Introduction to a New Methodology', the first of which will take place in May.
