The monograph by Daria Maltseva “Network approach in sociology” was recognized as the best scientific publication in sociology at the competition “University Book 2019”

The monograph by Daria Maltseva “Network approach in sociology: the genesis of ideas and application”, printed by the publishing house of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) in 2017, received a diploma “The best scientific publication in sociology” at the II International University Competition of Publications for Higher Educational Institutions “University Book 2019: Social and Human Sciences”. Diploma for the book was received by the Publishing House of the Novosibirsk State Technical University.

The monograph by Daria Maltseva “Network approach in sociology” was recognized as the best scientific publication in sociology at the competition “University Book 2019”


Daria’s monograph is based on the dissertation “The Network Approach in Sociology: the Genesis of Ideas, Current State and Possibilities of Application,” which was defended in 2015. The dissertation was aimed at systematizing theoretical ideas and practical developments of the network approach in sociology and determining its place and role in the structure of sociological knowledge. The paper analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations of three areas of the network approach in sociology – the analysis of social networks, relational sociology and actor-network theory. The results of the study can be useful for a wide range of researchers and academic workers, as well as students of the faculties of social sciences and can be used as part of teaching courses on the history of sociology, modern sociological theory, methodology and methodology of sociological research, as well as in the implementation of empirical research. The competition was held for the second time, from February 1 to October 25, 2019, on the basis of the Kazan Innovation University named after V.G. Timiryasova (IEUP). The competition received 70 applications from organizations and individuals from Russia and near and far abroad.
