Laboratory team held a master class on network analysis of the labor market at an expert session in Ufa.

ANR-Lab Deputy Head Irina Pavlova and Research Assistant Daniil Kovalev participated in an expert analytical session dedicated to the workforce needs of the chemical industry. The event took place on October 2-3, 2025, in Ufa with the support of the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers and the Russian Union of Chemists as part of the national project "New Materials and Chemistry."

Laboratory team held a master class on network analysis of the labor market at an expert session in Ufa.

The expert session brought together representatives from educational institutions, chemical companies, and regional government agencies to discuss the chemical industry's workforce challenges and showcase digital tools for addressing them.

The first day opened with welcoming remarks from the organizers and partners, including Vyacheslav Goiko, Director of the Institute for Big Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence at Tomsk State University; Ildus Sharafullin, Vice Rector for Research at Ufa University of Science and Technology; and Vladimir Smirnov, Acting Director General of the All-Russian Research Institute of Labor.

The work then continued in the form of panel discussions. In the first discussion, "Assessing Workforce Needs for the Chemical Industry," participants discussed the challenges facing the industry and presented a comprehensive analysis of the current situation using an interactive dashboard. The next discussion, "Generative Artificial Intelligence and the Labor Market," focused on the potential of modern AI tools for analyzing and forecasting labor market trends.

On the second day of the session, participants immersed themselves in practical work. The first workshop, "Assembling and Designing Relevant Educational Programs Based on Labor Market Data," was led by Daria Dunaeva (Project Manager at the Tomsk State University Institute for Big Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence), who demonstrated how to use the dashboard from the RosNavyk analytical platform to create and update educational programs and identify labor market trends.

This was followed by a workshop, "Network Analysis for Solving Practical Problems," led by Irina Pavlova and Daniil Kovalev. Using specific examples, the laboratory team demonstrated how network analysis can be used to study complex relationships in the labor market, identify clusters of in-demand competencies, and conduct regional analysis for various job openings. Participants actively participated in the discussion, asking questions about using network analysis to compare skills across regions and integrating a network approach into existing analytical systems.

Participation in the session not only presented network analysis methodology to a wide range of experts from the real economy and academia, but also outlined new areas for collaboration within the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers.

The expert-analytical session was held as part of the International Network Scientific and Practical Conference "Generative Artificial Intelligence in Economic and Social Sectors: PRO & CONTRA 2025."
