ANR-Lab`s Summer School on the foundations of network analysis

On July 24-28, 2017, International Laboratory for Applied Network Research has held the Eighth International Summer School «Theory and Methods of Network Analysis» (TMSA(II)-2017) on the foundations of network analysis.

ANR-Lab`s Summer School on the foundations of network analysis

This topic was chosen due to many requests for an introductory course in network analysis, and the purpose of the school was to introduce students to the foundations of theory and methods of social network analysis (SNA) and to demonstrate how networks are used to explain and predict phenomena in a wide range of other applied disciplines.

The lectors of the school were Stanley Wasserman, scientific supervisor of the ANR-Lab, and Valentina Kuskova, head of the ANR-Lab andscientific supervisor of a new Master’s Program «Applied Statistics with Network Analysis». There were 28 participants of the school – both the students and researchers working in different applied areas.

On July 28, the Open House of the Master’s Program «Applied Statistics with Network Analysis» was held, where Stanley Wasserman and Valentina Kuskova met with the future students of the program.
