Senior Research Fellow of the ANR-Lab Dmitry Zaytsev took part in 25th World Congress of Political Sciences, which this year was held in Brisbane, Australia.

Senior Research Fellow of the ANR-Lab Dmitry Zaytsev took part in 25th World Congress of Political Sciences.

The world forum of policy researchers gathered about 3000 scientists and specialists in the field of political science, political sociology, international relations, public policy, political economy, methodology of social sciences. Also wide and varied was the choice of topics presented in more than a thousand sections of the conference.

The
 special topic of the conference were problems of Borders and Margins in global politics. The plenary sessions discussed the problems of "new authoritarianism", "new populism", and "new nationalism". Due to the threats from these new phenomena, questions were raised about the future of democracy and the universality of human rights, as well as the role of both elites and the academic community in resolving these problems.

Dmitry Zaytsev made the report on Policy Advice in Russia in the 1990s and 2000s: Measuring Policy Advisors Impact on Education, STI and Civil Society Policies at the Policy Advisory System Politics and Dynamics session. The session was devoted to the analysis of political consulting systems, including the possibilities of using network analysis to measure the influence of experts on politics.
