ANR-lab team members are winners of data analysis hackathons
Laboratory team members took part in two data analysis hackathons and won prizes.
Egor Perekhozhev, a graduate student at the School of Sociological Sciences, took second place in the MFKaton competition for solving problems in the field of data analysis and artificial intelligence, which was held on December 9-10 under the auspices of the 'Intelligence' Foundation (MSU). Over the course of 8 hours on December 9, more than 150 people solved problems in three areas in the field of data science at once, and on December 10, the authors of the best solutions (including Egor) defended their results before the competition jury. Egor was able to successfully solve the problem of analyzing and preprocessing data to predict real estate prices, and for this solution he won a cash prize of 20,000 rubles.
In another competition, Egor, together with Vasilisa Vashchenko and Artem Oganyan, became finalists of the XMAS HACK 2023 hackathon from the Opportunity Accelerator at the Moscow State University 'Vorobyevy gory', which took place on December 22-24. The guys competed with more than 200 participants from different fields, from mechanical and mechanical engineering students to experienced IT employees. The ANR-Lab team 'Nodal Ribs' (as the guys called themselves) solved the case 'Exploration analysis of data from Wi-Fi routers on the movements of user devices around the city' from JSC 'Compass' and were able to analyze millions of lines of data about user movements in Tula in a very short time (less than 2 days). The guys successfully defended the results of their work before an expert jury and took 6th place (out of 9) in the final of the competition, only slightly losing to network engineers from the Beeline company.
Congratulations to our colleagues on these wonderful achievements! We wish them not to stop there and conquer new heights of scientific life!
