Members of the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research at the Open Data Forum in Kazan

On October 30-31, the Open Data Forum was held in Kazan. It focused on the search, collection, and analysis of open data, as well as the implementation of artificial intelligence-based tools and technologies in various sectors—society, economics, management, education, and science.

The annual Open Data Forum was held for the seventh time in 2019. This year, the forum was hosted by the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers, National Research Tomsk State University, and Kazan National Research Technological University.

Daria Maltseva, Head of the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research, and Irina Pavlova, Deputy Head of the Laboratory, presented a report "Network Analysis for Labor Market Research: A Case Study of Data Analysis from the RosNavyk Platform." The report focused on a joint initiative between the Laboratory and RosNavyk on the use of multimodal networks for labor market analysis.
As part of the project, Lab team members Daniil Kovalev, Irina Pavlova, and Daria Maltseva developed a program for the automated collection, exploratory analysis, and multimodal network modeling of job posting data from the RosNavyk platform. This program aims to identify the structure of the labor market, assess the demand for skills, specialties, and employers, and generate recommendations based on network connections. Using the resulting graphs, users can visualize the connections between key labor market elements (specialties, employers, skills, and regions) and assess their similarities. This allows them to identify current employer skill requirements, analyze regional labor market characteristics, and identify similar professional fields. This development can be used in HR analytics, career counseling, and educational program planning. It is planned to integrate into the RosNavyk platform interface after the registration of the RIA (currently underway).

During the official part of the event, the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research received a commendation for its collaboration with the Big Data Consortium and its contribution to organizing a series of seminars on the application of network analysis. In 2025, the laboratory's team held a series of open events, "Network Analysis: Introduction to a New Methodology," aimed at promoting network analysis in the Russian-speaking academic and business community among the Consortium's member universities, which currently includes over 80 educational and scientific organizations. Receiving this commendation is an important recognition of the Laboratory's expertise in its field.
