Collaborations in the scientific community: researcher’s view and practice

The head of the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research, Daria Maltseva, took part in several events at HSE departments, where she spoke about scientific collaborations from the point of view of a researcher in this field and a practitioner with experience in implementing joint research projects.

Collaborations in the scientific community: researcher’s view and practice

As part of the Open Day of the Academic Writing Center on September 20-21, Daria conducted master classes on the topic 'What is effective co-authorship? The view of a researcher and a practitioner.' Recordings of all open day events will soon appear on the center’s YouTube channel.

At the advanced training course 'Academic Accelerator «Soft Skills for Researchers»" from the Center for Scientific Integration of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Daria recorded a series of short lectures as part of the block 'Collaborations in the Scientific Environment.' Pre-recorded lectures will also be available on the course of the same name for university employees as part of the Center for Advanced Studies program.

'Studying collaboration between scientists based on co-authorship networks is one of the research areas of our laboratory. At the events held, I talked about modern trends in the field of scientific collaborations, and also tried to set a new focus for thinking about collaboration practices and show what insights for our research and practical activities can be given to us by a view from the perspective of network analysis. I hope that the examples of collaboration from my research practice and the practical advice that I gave were interesting and useful to the listeners. I believe that collaboration is the most important factor in the development of scientific knowledge.'
