Meetup 'Local Meetings and Global Connections'

On November 9, a hybrid meetup was held by the International Laboratory for Applied Network Research (ANR-Lab) and the Master's programme 'Data Analytics and Social Statistics' (DASS). The event brought together students and graduates of the DASS (ex-MASNA) master's programme, team and friends of the laboratory to discuss how the programme is doing and what opportunities for collaboration exist.

• We talked about the history of the formation and development of our Master's programme 'Data Analytics and Social Statistics'. Daria Maltseva, Head of ANR-Lab, spoke about the main milestones of the programme's formation, change of management, name change, opening and merging with a similar programme on Coursera.
• We celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Social Informatics programme at the University of Ljubljana, which served as a prototype and made a significant contribution to the formation of our programme. Anuška Ferligoj, Scientific Advisor of ANR-Lab, spoke about the Social Informatics programme in Ljubljana, answered questions from the audience and gave parting words to the students of our programme.
• We listened to the results of our benchmark study of the international education market in data analytics and statistics, and were convinced that our programme is one of the most charming and attractive. The report was presented by Irina Pavlova, Deputy Head of ANR-Lab, and Anna Kartasheva, Research Associate at ANR-Lab.
• Under the guidance of Ivan Klimov, Academic Director of DASS, we conducted a real and virtual network mapping for our students and team.
• We got acquainted with the university opportunities and social activities of HSE for students, which were described by Lika Kapustina, Research Assistant at ANR-Lab.
