The International Laboratory for Applied Network Research starts a new format of educational programs - short-term courses in various areas of applied statistics and network analysis. Within such intensive courses lasting from 3 to 7 days everyone interested will be able to get acquainted with modern methods of analysis from leading experts in their fields. The first course will be held on November 29 - December 3, 2017.

We are happy to announce the successful opening of our new Master’s program 'Applied Statistics with Social Network Analysis' – from September 1 there are 22 students in our team. On September 15-17, the first joint seminar of ANR-Lab employees and students took place at the NRU HSE educational center in Voronovo.

HSE Student Analyses Social Network to Find Runaway Brother
It is a fairly common story for families – a runaway teenager leaves a note saying ‘I’m not coming back, and don’t try looking for me’ and turns off their cell phone. In a recent case, however, a sister was able to find her brother by using the knowledge she acquired as a student in HSE’s Applied Mathematics and Information Science programme. Her story shows what social networks can say about its users to someone who knows how to listen.
